August T. “Terry” Kuruda, 82, passed away Saturday morning March 19, 2022 after a long illness with diabetes. Born in Saginaw, Michigan on August 30, 1939, Terry was the oldest of four children to August M. “Gus” and Clara (Ritter) Kuruda.
After graduating from Northside High School in June 1958, Terry proudly served his country in the Navy. Upon honorable discharge, he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at MetLife. Terry was an excellent carpenter and spent the majority of his retirement building unique and creative wood works and many have been passed-down to his children.
Terry was preceded in death by baby sister Diane, parents Gus and Clara Kuruda, brothers Tom and Dennis Kuruda and grandson Chance Kuruda.
He is survived and will be missed by children Julie Sell, Robin Kuruda, Chris (Penny) Kuruda, John Kuruda, Beth (Charles Lee) Bridges and David Lemery; nephew Tony Kuruda; niece Katlyn Kuruda; grandchildren, Lauren (Jason) Boyles, Landon (Olivia) Sell, Kelly (Zach) Dawson, Jessica (Alex) Dove, Connor (Chianna) Kuruda, Phoenix Kuruda, Austin Kuruda, Thrace Battleson and Ross, Christian & Kaiden Butusov and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held in April 2022.
