BARBARA DUDLEY RIKER, 64, left this world on Saturday, April 2, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Even though cancer, in the end, took her away from this world, her loving heart and selfless care for others will leave a beacon of light for her family and friends. Born May 13, 1957, she was a daughter of Gilbert and Alma Dudley. After graduating from high school, Barbara went to the University of Texas, where she got a nursing degree and met her husband, Greg Riker. Together, they had two children, Andrew (wife, Erin) and their child, Greyson and Adam (wife, Lauren) and their child, Taylor. Barbara loved spending time in her yard, laughing with friends, creating delicious meals for her family, and most of all, traveling and experiencing all the world had to offer. She was a skilled nurse, cook and gardener and filled her home with love and compassion for not only her family, but also friends. The remaining time was spent worshiping God. A special thanks should be acknowledged towards Dr. Sarah Wang and the Oncology staff at Parkview Medical for exceptional and compassionate care. According to her wishes, no funeral service is planned but instead her family will be spreading her ashes in Virginia on the coast of the Chesapeake Bay, which was the place she loved most from all her travels. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to a church of donor's choice or The Parkview Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home.
