Benjamin James Lane

Benjamin James Lane, age 35, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Ben was born on August 26, 1983, in Fort Wayne, IN to Mark Lane and Cindy Bastress. In 2001, he graduated from Snider High School in Fort Wayne and then continued his education at IPFW and IUPUI. Ben loved his work and staff at Chapman’s Brewing Company as a Manager in Fort Wayne. Ben had a way of lighting up any situation and his out of the box personality and unmeasurable love for Jesus Christ, his family and friends were infectious. He was the number one Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed watching IU basketball, Notre Dame football, and the Indianapolis Colts play. He enjoyed laughing, playing with his nieces and nephews and filling the room with smiles and love. Survivors include his mother; Cindy (Todd) Bastress of Fort Wayne, father, Mark (Fran) Lane of Fort Wayne, Siblings; Adam (Erin) Lane of Fort Wayne, Rachel (Channing) Lamborn of Pennsylvania, Caleb Lane of Virginia with the Navy, Rebekah Lane of Fort Wayne, Jeffrey (Brooke) Bastress of Fort Wayne, Britney (Will) Hofman, grandparents; Mahlon and Elizabeth Wickey, and Ann Lane both of Fort Wayne, the love and joy in his life, Siera Corwin and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents; James and Nancy Cutter, Thomas and Hecky Bastress, Maurice Lane and uncle, Michael “Mikey” Cutter. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Funeral will take place on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Central Ministries, 5801 Schwartz Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
