Bernice H. Callen (Beckley) passed away at the age of 98 years on Monday November 18, 2025. Born on December 8, 1926 to Emil Hanson and Emily (Opheim) Hanson of Mobridge, South Dakota. She grew up in Glenham, South Dakota with her two brothers Ervin LeRoy Hanson and Dean Hanson of Seminole, Oklahoma, they both preceded her in death. She is survived by her two adopted children, Gregory L. Callen and Debra J Callen (Foote) who grew up in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, while married to her now deceased love of her life, Leonard G. Callen. They were charter members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where they later completed the Lutheran Leadership Development Program together. She was an accomplished secretary and worked for the President of U.S. Life Corporation and Vice-President of AMF, Inc. She remarried late in life to Jay C. Beckley, and relocated to Edmond, Oklahoma to be closer to her brothers. While there, they both became active members of Peace Lutheran Church. For many years she enjoyed friends, church related activities, travel, and camping throughout the United States with her family.
