Bettie L. Figgs, 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Visiting nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Safford, AL to the late Johnny Morgan and Annie (Robinson) Tabb. Bettie married George Figgs and he preceded her in death in May of 1988. She worked at Parkview Hospital for over 30 years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of True Love Baptist Church. Bettie enjoyed riding her bike, cooking, and taking walks. She was a social butterfly. Above all else, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. Surviving are her children, Ivory (Cynthia) Morgan, Robert (Ginger) Figgs, Clarence Figgs, Jerry (Samantha) Figgs, George Figgs, Annie Figgs, and Artha Maxwell; many grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren; and siblings, Willie (Willie James) Gardner, Martha Fikes, Eloise Robinson, Lucinda McGill, James Tabb, Ernest Robinson, Sam Morgan, and Ida Morgan. Bettie was also preceded in death by her son, Willie J. Figgs; sisters, Rosie Brown, Eloise Morgan and Clara Oden; brothers, Robert Lee Morgan, William Morgan and Arthur Mitchell and John Morgan; son-in-law Alonzo Maxwell. Funeral services are private. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home.
