Betty Deam Bowser, 88, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Fort Wayne, IN.
She was born on March 20, 1937, in Fort Wayne. Betty was the daughter of the late Ralph and Marcella Deam.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Bonnie Ruhl.
She was a woman of many passions. Betty loved spending time with her family, cooking favorite dishes, fishing, and enjoying summers in Michigan. She had a deep affection for birds and animals, a loyal heart for IU basketball, and a special gift for playing the piano and organ, often filling her home with music.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Al Bowser. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and unconditional love. She was the proud mother of Tom (Ellen) Bowser, Tony (Barbie) Bowser, and Theresa Bowser of Columbus, Ohio. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Adam (Stacy) Bowser, Alicia (Jake) McKim, Lauren (Derek) Graber, Shauna (Carson) Cox, Aaron Bowser, Blake Bowser, Corin Bowser, and Derek Bowser, as well as her many cherished great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Margie (Jim) Edwards and Linda (Sandie) Knittle, along with several nieces and nephews who brought her great joy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Thursday July 17, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12305 Arcola Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46818, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons - Covington Knolls - Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN, 46804. Committal and burial will be at Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Arcola.
