Blair Monroe Jones

Blair M. Jones, 87, of Kendallville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born July 12, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio the son of the late Troy and Mae (Neville) Jones. Though humble about his service, Blair served in the United States Coast Guard from 1954-1958 during which time he married the love of his life, Ila, whom he shared 66 years of marriage. After being honorably discharged from the United States Coast Guard, Blair began his career at Dana Corporation as a Product Engineer in Toledo until his transfer to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1976 retiring in 2000 after 33 years. Blair lived a life that exemplified unconditional love. He was a deeply and profoundly devoted husband, a loving father who poured into his four children, and a fun-loving grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who taught them about the importance of family traditions and a good sense of humor. He found joy in woodworking, becoming a stained glass hobbyist, camping, was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and knew the way to his family's heart was through his recipe for chocolate fudge. It brings his family comfort knowing Blair is finally reunited with the love of his life, Ila, and was also welcomed home by his sisters, Susan Jones and Patricia Davis who preceded him in death. Blair is survived by his children, Kimberly Jean (Jeff Harrell) Williams of Spencerville, IN; Michael Jones of Fort Wayne, IN; Jennifer Lynn (Mark) Zern of Auburn, IN; Jeffrey Allen (Lisa) Jones of New Haven, IN; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral Service is 11 am Thursday April 18, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne with visitation 2 hours prior.
