

Bonnie Lou (Lester) Lombard, 100, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at her home in Fort Wayne. A lifelong resident of the Fort Wayne area, she was born to the late Carl and Gayle (Freeburn) Lester. She was a proud graduate of Central High School class of 1943. Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life, Virgil Lombard, and they spent 65 years together until his passing in 2009. She spent most of her working career in the insurance industry. She had a love of music and in her younger years played the piano in church and later organ and keyboard at many family events. Most recently, she celebrated her 100th birthday with a family gathering being one of the last to leave. Her greatest love and source of pride was her family. She is survived by her son, Scott (Maripat) Lombard of Roanoke and daughter, Susan Lint of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Adam (Julie) Lombard of Canton, Ohio, Brad (Paige) Lombard of Fort Wayne, Matthew (Colleen) Lombard of Warsaw, Ashley (Dustin) York, Andy Ford, and Matt Lint all of Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren, Max, Luke, Grace, Layla, Georgia and Brooks Lombard and Cameron, Noah, Kayne, Bentley, and Brooklyn York; numerous nieces and nephews, including Lynn (Terry) Thatcher of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Donna) Lester and Harold (Dorothy) Reasoner; sister, Olive (Arthur) Grant and son-in-law, Randy Lint. A funeral service will take place at 3PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be from 3PM-8PM on Friday, September 19, 2025, also at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home.
