Bonnie (Bender) Putt, 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on December 23, 2025. Bonnie was born January 10, 1943, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Paul and Charline Bender. She grew up on Packard Avenue and graduated from South Side High School, Class of '61. A woman of deep faith and steady service, Bonnie was an Elder and Deacon at United Faith Presbyterian Church, where she was also devoted to Christian education. She cherished her family and was known for the way she loved out loud—often telling her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren how proud she was of them, how much she loved them, and how fully she supported them.
Bonnie spent much of her working life in the service industry as a waitress and bartender, and she truly loved it—especially entertaining guests and making people feel welcome. In the same
spirit of service, she dedicated many years to organizations supporting the community and veterans, serving as Auxiliary President for the Navy Club - Ship 48, the Fraternal Order of Police - Fort Wayne, VFW Post 10006 and as well diligently served weekly at her church's food bank.
In her free time, Bonnie loved photography, growing flowers, and cats. She often said she loved taking pictures of people “in settings that are dear to them,” then sending them a copy— one of her many thoughtful ways of staying connected.
She is survived by her children, Lon Bradfield of Penrose, Colorado, Leeanna Bradfield of Fort Wayne, and Wil Putt of Nashville, Tennessee; stepchildren, Larry Putt of Buchanan, Michigan, Robert Putt of Garrett, Indiana and Kathy Putt of Wolcottville, Indiana; grandchildren, Justin, Candice, Erin, Marlon, Meghan, Isaac, Vivien, Sarah, Josh, and Ethan; and ten great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Charline Bender; her brother, Norman; her sister, Carol; and her husbands, Bob Bradfield and Robert Putt.
Bonnie’s love was steady, her humor was constant, and her presence made people feel at home.
Funeral Service is 1:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2026 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with calling two hours prior. Interment at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
