Carl E. Hess

Carl E. Hess, 88, of rural Yoder passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born on August 21, 1930 in Allen County, a son of the late Garrett and Mabel (Smith) Hess. He was a lifelong farmer and was a school bus driver for Southwest Allen County schools for 50 years. He was a member at Tillman Road Church of God. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and camping. Surviving family include his wife of 41 years, Billie Hess; daughter, Linda (Gary) Hitzeman; sons, Gary (Brenda) and Dean (Laurel) Hess; seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his first wife, Joy Caley; five sisters and one brother. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Tillman Road Church of God, 3710 East Tillman Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one-hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Tillman Road Church of God. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke. Memorials may be made to the church.
