She graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of 1947. She was a Registration Clerk at Parkview Memorial Hospital- Lindenview ward, for 15 years and retired in 1999.
Carmella survived the Great Depression, WWII, major surgeries, and had 10 children with courage, strength, resilience and a great joy for life. She enjoyed family celebrations, playing cards late into the night, reading a good book, telling stories, Santa Claus, elephant figurines, and her pet dog Barney. She will forever be remembered for her love and sacrifice for her children but especially for her enduring love for her late husband Dominic.
She is survived by her children, Gena Feldman of Atlanta, GA, Dominic (Connie) Leto Jr. of Monon, IN, Kathy King of Columbia, SC, Michael (Becky) Leto of Wolcottville, IN, Theresa (Gregory White) Leto of Columbia City, IN, Sam (Cindy) Leto of Fort Wayne, IN, Joe (Tara) Leto of Wolcottville, IN, Thomas (Cindy) Leto of Rineyville, KY, Anthony (Adriana) Leto of Edina, MN, Daniel (Kristie) Leto of Concord, CA; 26 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Carmella was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dominic J. Leto Sr. in 2010. Dominic was a WWII Marine Veteran and Purple Heart recipient.
