Carole Ann McGehee

Carole A. McGehee, age 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away at home surrounded by her family. Carole was born on November 17, 1935, and died August 8, 2024, having lived a very fulfilled life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. McGehee, born April 30,1928 and died August 15, 2001. She is survived by her children, Sabrina D. Kruse, Gregory G. McGehee (Lynda), Bruce C. McGehee, and stepson Charles Kim McGehee. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Melissa Tieman (Brandon), Whitney Mendez (Paul), Travis McGehee (Megan), Rachael Kruse, and Brandon Bohl (Elise).

She was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren: Bryce, Paul, Isabelle, Gabrielle, Logan, Isaiah, Abigail, Annabelle, Parker, Lillian, Payton, and Brantley. She also had two grand dogs that she adored, Pablo and Lexi.

Carole was a graduate of Central High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She completed an accounting degree in 1963 and began working at NAPA Distribution Center on April 16, 1964. She was hired as a bookkeeper and moved on to become the Office Manager and Operations Manager. She received multiple awards for her dedication to the NAPA organization, including the President’s award. She retired at the age of 76 on April 13, 2012, after 48 years of service!

She was the best of the best, adored by her family and loved by her friends. She was a member of Aboite Lutheran Church. Her faith was very important to her, and she loved Jesus!

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 24th at Aboite Lutheran Church, 10312 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Visitation at 1:00 pm with a service following at 2:00 pm.
