Carole Jean Walker

Carole Jean Walker, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. Born on May 11, 1938 in Perrysburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Burton Leroy and Mary Adeline (Wetzel) Flory. Carole graduated from Maumee High School in Maumee, Ohio. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Carole went on to earn her MBA from Indiana University. She was a special education teacher for 40 years, notably at Southwest Allen County Schools and Northwest Allen County Schools. Carole was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was part of the Rachel Circle. Her hobbies included gardening, attending sports events for her grandchildren, traveling, and boating. Carole is survived by her son, Todd (Jennifer) Walker; grandson, Sean Walker; and granddaughter, Sydney Walker. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Lee Walker; son, Shawn Walker; and brother, John Flory. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11 AM with calling one hour prior at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or Allen County SPCA.
