Carolyn “Madge” McFarren passed away on April 30, 2024, at home with her family near. Born to the late Earle and Nada Kelsey at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in 1951, Carolyn graduated from Eastside High School in 1969 and began working as a travel agent for Fort Wayne Travel. In 1973, she married the love of her life, Rex McFarren - her “guy” - spending the next 51 years together.
In her 50 dedicated years as a travel agent, Carolyn helped thousands of clients see the world, while celebrating a traveling life of her own with Rex, visiting Europe, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, the California Wine Country, Saint Martin’s, and many stops in the Caribbean. She loved her flower gardens, surprise rainbows, a good book, sharing a sip of wine and chatting about anything and everything as "Maggie" with her Ladies of the Lake. She was a loyal and loving friend. She adored her family and her guy.
She was the PROUD mother of Jeremy (Erin Patton-McFarren) McFarren, Joshua (Sook J. Lee) McFarren, and Molly McFarren; and the devoted grandmother of Luna Rane, Olivia Maggie-Sue, Nigel David-Rex, Kai Rex and Jax Lee.
Celebration of Life is 3:30 PM, Wednesday, May 8 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne with calling beginning at 2 PM.
