CECIL GOMEZ, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Born Oct. 15, 1936, in Waco, Texas, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Gomez. Cecil retired from General Electric. He loved to spend time with his family and was fond of his daily walks through the park. "His smile, his gentle kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all." Surviving are his daughter, Jenny (Jennifer) of Melissa, Texas; sons, Christopher (Ronda) of Leo, Jason (Ami) of Fort Wayne and Michael (Michelle) of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren; siblings, Nacha (Jim) Cuellar, Joe Gomez, Jesse Gomez, Antero (Barb) Gomez, Victoria Meier, Mary Gomez, Juanita (Gordon) McMeeking, Lupe Murray, Rosie Moecke, Maggie (Todd) Merchant and Carmen Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Louis. Private family services to be held with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements made by Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society.
