Charles “Doug” Chandler, 57, of Fort Wayne passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. He was born on January 2, 1957 to the late Reynus “Hap” and Christine (Bell) Chandler. He was the bass player for the River City Band for 21 years, he also worked as a certified welder, and a bar manager. He was a member of the musicians union. He enjoyed golf, boxing, fishing, Bears football, reading all kinds of books but especially Stephen King, and he will be remembered as a strong supporter of our veterans. Surviving family include his children, Tim (Holly) Chandler, Shannon (David) West, Danielle Irving, Charles Dillan “Bubba” (fiancé-Amy) Chandler; 16 grandchildren; and siblings, Teresa Pratico, Daniel (Debbie) Chandler, and Debra (Rick) Weilbaker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, David Chandler. A funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne with visitation starting at 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the family.
