Cheryl M. Grannan

Cheryl M. Grannan, age 74, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, after a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born December 20, 1949 in Fort Wayne to the late Robert and Marguerite (nee Hoffman) Brodrick. Cheryl graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1968 and earned a diploma in nursing from Holy Cross School of Nursing at South Bend, Indiana in 1971. Cheryl married her high school sweetheart, John A. Grannan, on July 17, 1971. She spent 42 years as a registered nurse with Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Upon her retirement, she settled into her most favorite role and job as "Grandma" to her two grandchildren. Cheryl was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and loved playing computer games, but cherished time spent with family the most. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, John; children, Maura (Matthew) Studebaker, and Kimberly Grannan; grandchildren, Malin and Malia Studebaker; siblings, Daniel (Jane) Brodrick, Patricia (Mike) Goggin, Marlene Cramer, and John Brodrick; sister-in-law, Terri Brodrick; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved Grannan family in-laws. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Michael Brodrick; parents-in-law, Mary Margaret and John A. Grannan, Sr.; and Kathleen (Grannan) and George T. Widmer. Funeral service is 11 am, Friday, May 3, D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 pm, Thursday, May 2, at the funeral home.
