

Cleta M. Bowlin, 97, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at The Towne House Retirement Center where she had been living in the independent housing for many years. Born in Appleton City, MO, Cleta was the daughter of the late Robert and Essie Bellomy. Cleta was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a devoted friend. She married her husband Richard on February 25, 1940, and had 72 years of marriage together until his passing in 2012. She was a former member of the Fort Wayne Country Club and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Cleta and Richard owned Allen County Motors for 47 years until their retirement in 1997. Cleta spent her Thursdays at The Corner House Beauty Salon, where she was a well known client and enjoyed socializing with their staff and her many friends. In her younger years, she would finish up her Thursdays with lunch with friends and bowling at Northcrest Lanes. She enjoyed her summers at Lake Wawasee while spending time with her family. She loved her family and cherished all her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. Surviving are her children, Rex (Anita) Bowlin, Debbie (Tom) Kimbrough, Diane Bowlin, Dawn (John) Kleber all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Christine (Dan) Mounsey, Courtney Bowlin, Adam Kimbrough, Stefanie Kimbrough, Jennifer Bowlin, Brittany and Kimberly Kleber; and great-granddaughter, June Marie. Cleta was preceded in death by her siblings, Viola Plymouth, Fannie Quick, and Lloyd Bellomy. Service for Cleta will be for the family and Towne House Residence at 2:30 pm, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Towne House Retirement Community Chapel, 2209 St. Joe Center Road with calling from 1:00 pm until the service, Rev. Douglas Vogel officiating. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Towne House Chapel Fund or Turnstone Center.
