Constance "Connie" Skimos née Tsintsaroff, 93, passed peacefully on December 15, 2025. Born in Visheni, Macedonia, Greece, on October 4, 1932, to Vasil and -Slavka Tsintsaroff.
She immigrated to the United States via boat, arriving on Ellis Island at age 4, then settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she learned English and attended school. She graduated from South Side High School in 1950 and worked briefly at the local Coca-Cola bottling plant.
She met Michael "Mike" Skimos at a Macedonian dance when she caught his eye in a green dress, and he charmed her with a mischievous smile. After a brief courtship, they married on August 30, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and started a family. Together, they raised a son, John Michael, and daughter, Jean Marie, with strong values and tremendous pride in their Macedonian heritage.
Connie became a naturalized US citizen and was a beloved wife and homemaker for 60 years. She was quiet, kind, and sensitive, finding her peace and comfort at home. She enjoyed gardening and made the best Macedonian Peta - a secret she passed down. She also had a talent for baking fresh bread and canning fresh grape jelly straight from her vine. She was also a member of the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Women's Guild.
Through her middle-aged years, she enjoyed visiting her grandchildren Jaclyn and Tommy in Cincinnati and having them stay over for weeks during the summers. She also enjoyed spending time with her siblings and attending socials and playing cards with relatives and friends.
Through her golden years, she looked forward to dining out and traveled abroad with her husband, family, and friends, visiting Mexico and taking cruises to the Caribbean and through the Panama Canal. She also loved watching game shows, playing bingo, and impromptu visits to the casino to try her luck on the slots.
In her elder years, she was blessed with good health and to be a Baba Baba (great-grandmother).
She is survived by son, John Skimos of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and daughter and son-in-law, Jean & Chris Giovis of Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as granddaughter Jaclyn Giovis Wolff, her husband Frank and their daughter Alexia of Cincinnati, Ohio, and grandson Tommy Giovis, his wife Alison and their daughters, Elliana & Athena, of Columbus, Ohio; and other close relatives.
She was preceded in death by her dear parents, loving husband Mike, cherished sisters, Luba Evanoff and Rosy Ridenour; and brother George Tsintsaroff, and many other close family members and friends.
