

CORINNE "CORKY" OETTING, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Saint Anne Home. Born Oct. 17, 1927, in Altoona, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Martha Linneman Kintz. She was a homemaker and had worked part-time at Hoemigs Market, Parrot Press and Indigo Printing. She was a graduate of Most Precious Blood School and Central Catholic High School. "A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed staying home, raising her children and baking." She also donated her time at the Trinity United Methodist Church Food Bank. She was a lifelong member of Most Precious Blood Church and a member of the Rosary Society. Surviving are her four daughters, Martha "Mo" (Steve) Irwin of Roanoke and Marita (Ron) Lauer of Leo, Roberta Firestine and Paula (Jeff) Leitch, both of Fort Wayne; four sons, Mike (Linda) Oetting, Pat (Diane) Oetting, David (Joyce) Oetting, and Steve (Kim) Oetting, all of Fort Wayne; one brother, Robert (Becky) Kintz of New York; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; one son-in-law, John Firestine; and three sisters, Lois Gibson, Mary Kleber and Marjorie McClurg. Prayer service is 9:30 a.m. Monday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Street. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a Wake service at 7 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Most Precious Blood Church, Saint Anne Home or Alzheimer's Association.
