Daniel Richard “Dan” Guse, 70, of Fort Wayne shattered his earthy chains on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, to be with his Father in Heaven, for Eternity. Born in Rushville, Indiana on May 5, 1951, to the late Charles and Suzanne Guse, Dan graduated from Michigan City Elston High School in 1969 and ITT Technical Institute in 1972. He was married on September 16, 1972 to Carol Ann Ramel. Men’s Ministry was Dan’s passion and he participated in many Promise Keeper and Emmaus events over the past four decades, as well as leading small and large groups of men and being a member of multiple accountability groups. In addition, he was a long-time Kiwanis member, having served as President of the Time Corners Kiwanis Club for many years. Indy Car racing was in his DNA and he was proud to share a personal attendance streak at the Indianapolis 500 that dated back to 1963. His other big love was cruising. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends while someone else was doing the driving. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 49 years; his two daughters who were, and will always be, his pride and joy – Melissa (Michael) Fox and Andrea (James) Swickheimer; his brother, William Guse in Michigan City, Indiana and sister, Marlana (Wil) Good in Huntsville, Alabama. In addition, he leaves a beloved grandson, John, granddaughters, Jo and Kayla, and nieces and nephews on both sides of the family – Ben, Charlie, Nikki, Savannah, Clare, Nick, Brian and Dustin. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at The Chapel, 2505 West Hamilton Road South, Fort Wayne, 46814 with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
