Danny Jo Thoma, 87, of Markle, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Born November 20, 1932 in Allen County, Indiana, he was a son of the late Ernest and Martha (Van Anda) Thoma. Danny proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and was a diesel mechanic with Kroger. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton, Indiana, and member of the Uniontown Church of Christ in Ossian, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Lucile (Bailey) Thoma; son, Terry (Susie) Thoma; three grandchildren, Amber Heck, Sara Heck, and Jamie (Chris) Wilson; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Frank) Ratcliffe and Kitty Hoopingarner; and brother-in-law, Tom Walton. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rita (Thoma) Heck; siblings, Peggy Roebuck, Ted Thoma, and Dixie Walton; great-grandson, Nathaniel Heck; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Hoopingarner and Glenn "Pap" Roebuck. Funeral Service is 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Uniontown Church of Christ, 11419 N 200 W, Ossian, Indiana, with calling one hour prior. Burial at Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville, Indiana.
