Darleen Yvonne (Murphy) Schmidt, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at The Hearth at Windermere in Fishers, Indiana. Born in Muskegon, Michigan, Darleen was the daughter of the late Bernard and Lorraine Murphy. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was a 50 year member of Plymouth Congregational Church, and a 25 year member of DAR. She married the love of her life Robert on March 16, 1950 in Hollywood, California. He preceded her in death in 2009. Darleen and her husband enjoyed traveling. She was able to reach all 50 states, over 40 countries, and 6 out of 7 continents. Darleen also enjoyed camping and genealogy. Surviving are her children, Gregg Schmidt of Fishers, Kim (Kent) Ryan of Noblesville; grandchildren, Brittany (David) Williamson of Indianapolis, Hayley (Chad) Wiltermood of Fortville; great-grandchildren, Adriana Yvonne Williamson and John Alan Williamson. Darleen was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard D. Murphy. Service is 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior, Rev. Dr. John P Gardner officiating. Calling at the funeral home Friday, May 18, 2018, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
