

DAVID E. FLOYD, 85, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at his home in Fort Wayne. Born in Morgan-field, Ky., David was a Korean War Army Veteran. He worked as a manager with General Electric for over 35 years, before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Coventry Baptist Church, G.E. Elfun Society, and enjoyed volunteering for SCORE. He was known for his generosity and his witty sense of humor. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughter, Karen (David) Woyner of Cave Creek, Ariz.; son, Brent (Kristi) Floyd of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Lauren, Thomas, Dominic, Nicole; great-grandsons, Ethan and Jackson; sisters, Mary (Ronald) Davis of Morganfield, Ky. and Anna Virginia Ruby of Fredericksburg, W. Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maude Floyd; and wife, Virginia (Lee) Floyd. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior. Dr. John Blair officiating. Calling also from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorials may be made to Coventry Baptist Church, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, or Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
