David L Paul

David L. Paul, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, David was the son of the late Lawrence and Leone (Kortokrax) Paul. David graduated from Central Catholic High School. He served our country in the Army National Guard. David worked in the automotive industry as a service manager and sales associate for Hefner Chevrolet and Collins Oldsmobile. He was also a tool expert for Sears until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, American Legion 47, and the 40 and 8 Club. David and his wife had a passion for saving dogs worldwide. He enjoyed fly fishing, music, dancing, oil painting, and was an avid woodworker. Surviving are his wife, Harriet I. (Eckart) Paul of Fort Wayne; children, Gary (Carolyn) Paul of Midlothian, TX, Deb Cochran, Sherry Paul; step-daughter, Patricia Griswold of MI; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Vikki Swanson, and step-son, James Griswold. Service is 1:00 pm, Monday, July 24, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior, Rev. Timothy Graham officiating. Calling at the funeral home Sunday, July 23, 2017, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Parkview Home, Health, and Hospice.
