Our thoughts are with your family as we remember the years of blessing with Dave as our Pastor and friend. He was truly a blessing to us all and we will miss him.

I just loved having Pastor Schlie for my 4th grade teacher.  Even today I mention him to my students --because of him I was finally able to give a speech in front of the class!! He made such an impact on my life and my Christinan walk.

Pastor Schlie was a wonderful caring person .  He most definitely will be missed by his church family as well as Elaine and family.  He was a blessing to so many and is now in the arms of his Savior.  God bless all who mourn for such a wonderful person.

Elaine and Family-My deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of a wonderful, wonderful person who will be missed by so many whose lives he touched. He was my favorite Pastor and I even made him chocolate chip cookies.  He confirmed me in 1980, and married me and my husband in 1986.  You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jane & Joel and family - you are in our prayers during this time of loss.  May the Good Shepherd of the sheep hold you close in His loving arms even as He is already doing with your dad.

Many people, including former students at Bethlehem and Concordia High School, will miss Taecher and Pastor Schlie. I had him for my 4th Grade teacher at Bethlehem. My friend, Ginny (Gotsch) Flora and I had a crush on him and we called him Mr. Handsome.He was one of my favorite teachers.May God be with and bless his wife, Elaine, children and grandchildren at this difficult time.

My heart goes out to Aunt Elaine and the entire Schlie family.  I have many fond memories of Uncle Dave, Aunt Elaine and my Schlie cousins and our time together, growing up in St Louis, and I remember him always as a sweet, kind family man. Though it may be from my childhood memories, I think of Uncle Dave as sitting next our Dad in a folding chair on a warm summer night.  He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

I so much would love to be in Fort Wayne to pay my respects to my former pastor but circumstances will not allow me to.
Although there will be tears and sorrow here on earth, we all know the joyous reunion we will have in heaven.
Pastor Schlie was a good and faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus and now he relishes in His Glory.

Pastor Schlie touched so many lives - and mine included.  His name has been spoken and praised in almost every story I have told my youth group here in San Antonio.  Even over 1,000 miles he was still and I am sure will continue to touch hearts with the love of our Lord!  You are in our prayers Elaine and family.  Take care and know that he is defiantly home now.

My life was blessed for knowing him!  I was confirmed by Pastor Schlie in the 8th grade and had him as my religion teacher for years before that.  My thoughts are with you all.  Thank you for sharing him with so many of us over all of these years.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.  I will miss Pastor Schlie greatly.  He baptized me, gave me my first communion, and help me develop my faith while at Bethlehem.  God is welcoming home a great man who shared the word of God while on earth.  May God bless and be with your family.
