Debra attended Ponce de Leon High School in Ponce de Leon, Florida. In 1991, she proudly obtained her G.E.D. showing it’s never too late.
On May 10, 1986, she married William Marendt. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandbabies!
Debra was a devoted employee of the Southgate Kroger Grocery Store for 29 years. She looked forward to seeing her regular customers and meeting new customers at the Seafood Counter. Her co-workers were her second family, whom she loved dearly.
She will be forever remembered for her love of fashion with flower shirts, singing Karaoke with friends on the weekends and Elvis Presley.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mary (Eleam) Davis.
Left to cherish her memory includes her husband, William Marendt; daughters, Kisha (Jason) Mattern and Judith (Gar) Roby; seven grandchildren, Sarinah Mattern, Nataly Mattern, Jace Roby, Courtney Roby, Jasmine Roby, Beau Roby and Taylor Baughn; two great grandchildren, Warren Kinder and Mason Kinder; a brother, Albert Griffith; aunts, Faye Mandell and Wilma Smith both of Rochelle, IL ; uncle, Melvin Nance of Rock Falls, IL, along with her beloved Kroger family, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, on April 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location beginning at 12:00 pm.
Final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN
