Deloris Jane Clifford, age 85 passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. She was born January 21, 1939 in Auburn, Indiana to the late Silas "Ted" and Gladys (née McClish) Walters; one of twelve children. Jane attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne and worked as a Counselor with North American Van Lines. In her retirement, she served as a Teacher's Aide with Fort Wayne Community Schools.
Jane was a woman of strong conviction, that had many hobbies and interests including baking, sewing, needlepoint, reading, genealogy, and "Happy Hours" at the Lake but cherished time spent with her friends and family the most. She was a self-taught woman of resilience with an outgoing, vibrant personality and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty-three years, Arthur L. "Art" Clifford; beloved children, Paula K. King, Donna L. Clever, and Brad A. (Jessica) Clifford; grandchildren, Brittany Gerig, Brian (Crystal) Clifford, Brady Wilson, Victoria "Tori" Clifford, Esther King, Abigail King, Taylor Wilson, Ian Clifford, Michela Clifford, and Alana Clifford; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pat Leffler, Shirley Ruegsegger and Mary Goble. Jane was preceded in death by granddaughter, Grace King; sisters, Helen Cooper, Joan Tutwiler, and Donna Tageson; brothers, Bill Walters, Jack Walters, George Walters, Eugene Walters, Tom Walters.
Funeral Service is 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior. Friends and family will also be received 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Monday, January 6th at the Funeral Home. Interment at Covington Memorial Cemetery and Gardens, Fort Wayne.
