Dennis J Rainey

DENNIS J. RAINEY, 59, passed away Wednesday, Feb 11, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne and attended Snider High School and Ivy Tech. Dennis had been a resident of Huntington, Ind. since 1998. He was an assistant store manager in Gas City, Ind. and had worked for Kmart for 40 years. Dennis was an avid Yankees baseball fan and loved to spend time with his family. Surviving are his children, Charity (Matthew) Nakowski of Midland, Mich., Jon DeGuise of Colorado, Jacquelyn (Brett Friedman) Rainey, Jessica (David) Rainey and Rebecca Sorenson, all of Huntington, Ind.; brothers, Ed (Linda) Rainey of Fort Wayne, Curt (Jan) Rainey of California and Bill Rainey of Florida; grandchildren, Kristin (Doug) Card, Megan Makowski, Jalen Smith, Landon Kewish,, Mason Kewish, and Denisse Friedman; and a great-grandson, Douglas Card. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Mina Evelyn Rainey; and brother, Moe Rainey. Service is 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the National Cancer Research Society.
