Denzil Burton Caskey III

Denzil Burton Caskey III, age 59, born September 9, 1962 passed peacefully in his home with family Saturday morning September 18, 2021. He fought with courage and determination before losing his battle to cancer.

Denzil was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne until his most recent years when he relocated to Illinois. He spent several years working for SDI and US Food Service in Fort Wayne, and Sanfilippo & Sons Inc in Illinois. Denzil also spent many years working in local establishments where he met a tremendous number of friends and sustained, lifelong friendships. He honored those friendships through his final days. He had many accomplishments throughout his life, including the achievement of a 1.2 second Professional PBR bull ride. Denzil is survived by his mother, Felicia Cleo (Rios) Rodriguez; children, Christopher Scott Caskey, Denzil Burton Caskey IV, Brandi Marie (Kayla Michelle Woodward) Caskey; sister, Libby Ann (Hector) Perez; brother, Daniel Lee (Christine) Wright; granddaughter, Juliana Ann Marie Kessler; several nieces and nephews, including Daniel Allen Hitner. He was preceded in death by his father, Denzil Burton Caskey Jr.; step-mother, Patty Lou Caskey; and sister, Tamela Francisco.

A celebration of life visitation for Denzil will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home (1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne), with a funeral service to follow immediately at 3:00 PM at the funeral home, Father Jake Runyon officiating.
