Dessie Marie Combs, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born in Jellico, TN, daughter to the late Alonzo Elmer and Mary Julie (Allen) Collins. Dessie worked in hospitality for many years, retiring from Comfort Suites. Dessie is survived by her brother, Jimmy (Toni) Collins. She was a loving mother to Anthony Wayne (Sandra) Combs of Monroeville, Howard (Kathy) Combs of Yoder, and Victor Darren Combs of Ossian; beloved Mema to Ashley, Eric, Amber, Melissa, Kelsey, Kayla, Corbin, Wade, Robert Austin, Grayson; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Combs; siblings, Dorothy Hollingsworth and Larry Collins; daughter, Christie Combs; and grandchildren, Alisa True and Richard Navrotsky. A memorial service for Dessie will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with gathering and visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
