DONALD E. MONCE, 87, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2017. Born in Urbana, IN, he was a son of the late Rupert and Bonnie Monce. Don served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart medal. He was a manager for the Canteen Corp., retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends through NCHA.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; children, Rhonda (Larry) Saylor, Jeff (Wendy) Monce, Dan (Mary) Monce and Victoria (John Church) Monce; sister, Donna Yentes; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his first wife, Phyllis; brothers, DeWayne and David Monce; and granddaughter, Misty.
Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Southern Care Hospice, Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana, or Calvary United Methodist Church.
