

DONALD L. "GRUMPY" ULMAN, 66, of Hoagland, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, 7:30 a.m., at his residence. He was born May 4, 1944, in Adams County, son of the late Herman B. and Catherine (Hebble) Ulman. The U.S. Army veteran worked in the Parts Dept. at Allen County Motors for 35 years and retired from Holley Sales. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel. He is survived by his wife, Barbara C. (Kleber) Ulman of Hoagland; three daughters, Laura (Phil) Harris of Monroeville, Barbie (Rob) Myer of Roanoke and Deb (Steve) Jones of Warsaw; two sisters, Alice Ulman of Hoagland and Peggy Brown of Decatur; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rheta Bartmess; twin sister, Ruth Lithwin; and brother, Joseph Ulman. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel, with calling one hour prior to service at the church. Calling also from 1 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with Rosary at 4:30 P.M. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
