She is survived by her children, Steve (Jan) Davis, Kay (Mark) Byerley, Amy (Scott) Bowser, Pat (Mike) Wissel, Greg (Liz) Davis and Barb (Ron) Carpenter; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Doris Peters; and sister, LaVonne Chalk.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her spouses, Robert Davis and Harold Buckenmeyer.
A visitation will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at Highland Park Cemetery.
Dorothy was not one for grand gestures, but she made ordinary days better with her kindness and goodness. “What can I do to help” was always a part of her vocabulary. And help she did! Our family is so blessed. She impacted all of our lives through all generations.
