

Dr. Richard Jon Miller, age 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born May 15, 1939, in Fort Wayne to the late Dr. Richard H. & Mary (Calbeck) Miller. Richard graduated from South Side High School, Class of '58, where he lettered in football, track and basketball; his team secured the 1958 State Championship for South Side High School, and he was a proud member of the Indiana All-Star basketball team. He received an athletic scholarship for basketball to The Citadel, and matriculated from Ball State College and Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1967. Richard performed his residency at Lakeside Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio prior to opening his Oral Surgery practices in Fort Wayne and Angola, Indiana and served on-staff at Lutheran Hospital, Parkview Hospital and St. Joe Hospital.
During his time at Ball State, Richard met the love of his life, Pamela Bartik, and the two would wed in 1963.
Richard was an avid golfer and a member of Fort Wayne Country Club, Sycamore Hills Golf Club, and Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, N.C. where he had a second home. He loved to snow ski, and would take numerous trips with family and friends to Colorado. His love for aviation led him to earn his private pilot's license.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-one years, Pamela Ann Miller; children, Richard R. (Amy) Miller, and Christopher J. Miller; granddaughter, Alexia "Lulubell" Norris; and great-grandchildren, Elias, Rhea, and Karsyn. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott Miller; and son-in-law, Nick Norris; sister, Myra Hattersley; and brother, Jim (Eileen) Miller.
Pamela Ann Miller, age 81, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. Pamela was born June 3, 1943 in Berwyn, Illinois to the late James and Annabell (Treml) Bartik. She attended Ball State College where she majored in Music Performance, Piano Concentration. During her time at Ball State, she met the love of her life, Richard Miller and the two would wed in 1963.
She entered the workforce for a brief time with Fitzgerald Cadillac of Fort Wayne, but cherished her role as a homemaker, wife and mother.

Pam was preceded in death by her devoted husband of sixty-one years, Dr. Richard Jon Miller; son, Jeffrey Scott Miller; and son-in-law, Nick Norris.
Friends and family will be received 2 - 5 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road. Private Interment at Sparks Cemetery, Markle, Indiana.
