EARL DEAN TINNEY, 82, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born Sept 16, 1928, in Reading, Mich., he was the son of the late Earl H. and Gladys (Hoover) Tinney. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II, and was a mechanic for most of his life. He was a member of VFW Post 857, American Legion Post 240 and Eagles Lodge 3512. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Tinney; daughters, Suzanne (Gary) Shelton, Laura Tinney and Carolyn (Dale) Runyan; sons, David (Janie) Tinney and Dennis (Vickie) Tinney; stepdaughter, Carol (Russell) Lahr; stepsons, Jerry (Linda) Federspiel, Andrew (Christina) Federspiel and Ernest Federspiel; brothers, Robert (Maxine) Tinney and Richard (Janet) Tinney; and sister, Janet Tinney. He was also preceded in death by a son; two stepdaughters; and three sisters. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with visitation one hour prior.
