Evelyn Edith Koiner

Evelyn Edith Koiner, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 8, 1953, a daughter of the late Eugene and Bonnie Griffin. Evelyn earned her Bachelor's degree from Fort Wayne Bible College in Christian Education with a minor in camping. She enjoyed serving as a counselor at several camps including New Life Ranch in Oklahoma. She earned her degree in Preschool Education while living in Phoenix, Arizona. Evelyn had a heart for children and enjoyed her time working as a preschool teacher. She also spent many years working at various retailers including Sears and JCPenney providing excellent customer service with her passion to serve others.

Evelyn very lovingly fulfilled her calling of being a wife, mother, sister, friend and homemaker. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of The Chapel where she found a loving community of believers and participated in various groups throughout the years.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher (Amanda) Koiner of Bluffton and Joshua (Abbie) Koiner of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Kaden, Kyren, Delaney, Grace, Lucy, and Avery. Evelyn is also survived by her dear sisters, Gayle Griffin of Fort Wayne and Karen Jamison of Oregon; and sister-in-law, Karen Griffin of Oklahoma. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 32 wonderful years, Peter Koiner; and brother, Gregory Griffin.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
