Evelyn Mae Neuhouser

Evelyn Mae Neuhouser passed from this life on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the age of 99. She was born on January 10, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Richard W. Grepke and Bessie (née. Harshbarger) Grepke-Johnson.

Evelyn was a graduate of Arcola High School Class of 1944. She was married on July 10, 1944, to the late Donald Eugene Neuhouser. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, and the Fort Wayne Organ Club. Over the years she worked for Lincoln Life and Kelly Services.

She loved music, and jigsaw puzzles. Over the years often, she played the piano and organ as the substitute musician at the various churches they belonged to while living in West Virginia, Florida, Indiana and Ohio.

One of her fond accomplishments was to play the Grand Page organ at the Embassy Theater. She enjoyed church activities, often helping out as church secretary as needed and liked working in her yard.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Grepke Jr.

She leaves a legacy of love and precious memories to her daughter, Valarie Neuhouser and son, Shelby L. Neuhouser and wife, Gail, and granddaughter, Heather, other relatives and friends of the family.

We will always remember her love, compassion and beautiful smile.

A Funeral Service Celebrating her life will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Road (46815) with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
