Garold F. Springer

Garold F. Springer, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Irma (Hans) Springer. Garold served in the United States Army. He belonged to the American Legion Post 82, a lifetime member of VFW 1421, charter member at Peace Lutheran church and a 25-year member at Trinity Lutheran Church. Garold also participated in the Lutheran men of song for 20 years. He had a passion for fishing, wood working, and spending time with family. Garold is survived by his wife, Suzzanne (Heidenreich) Springer; sons, Kenny (Mary), David (Melanie), and Philip (Lisa) Springer; step-children, Kurt Wagner and Yvonne Blackter; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Hildegard Blondell. Garold was also preceded in passing by his previous spouse, Doris Springer; siblings, Gilbert Springer, Mike Springer, Norma Pardue, and Rosie Unverzagt; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Springer. Truly a man who will be missed by many. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7819 Decatur Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Burial to follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery. Contributions in Garold's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Eleos Hospice.
