Gloria Carleen Bassett

Gloria Carleen (Miller) Bassett, age 65, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Gloria was born on October 3, 1956, in Whitley County Hospital, Columbia City, Indiana, to Ronald and Mary Kathryn (Hathaway) Miller. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1975. Gloria married Michael Bassett on September 4, 1976. Gloria was a hairstylist in her younger years, and was currently employed by VOSS in Fort Wayne. She was devoted to her job and was a very hard-working woman. Gloria was an avid reader and gardener. She loved being outdoors with her family, especially her dear grandchildren; A.J., Bentley and Kingston Bassett. Gloria was a very talented landscape designer, artful home decorator (especially at Halloween and Christmas), and was a terrific baker! Gloria was one of the "good people," and will truly be missed! Gloria is survived by her devoted, significant other of nine years, Rick Rodgers. She is also survived by two sons, Aaron (Kristin) Bassett of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Kyle (Jasmine) Bassett of Goshen, Indiana; two sisters, Jinny Butz and Lucia (Everette) Sroufe; two brothers, Mark Miller and Michael (Deb) Miller; and many nieces and nephews as well as her Bassett siblings-in-law. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bassett, and her parents, Ronald and Mary K. Miller. Gloria's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the UAW Hall #2209, 5820 E 900 N, Roanoke, Indiana 46783. Preferred memorials are to Gloria's family. Arrangements are entrusted to Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services-Mungovan Chapel.
