With deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the memory of Gordon H. Kronberg, lovingly known as "Papa K" and also as "Gordy", who passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on July 22, 1936, in Crandon, Wisconsin, Gordon's life was a testament to faith, devotion, and love.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Kronberg; his beloved wife Patricia Kronberg; siblings, Juanita Wosenberg, Lyle Kronberg, and Fred Kronberg; and his beloved grandson, Duane Kronberg. He is survived by his children: Mark (Elaine) Kronberg, Linda (Brice) Allsup, Lisa (Rick) Ganaway, Caryn Kronberg, and Cindy (Andy) Adams; siblings: Donald Kronberg, Ramona Simmons, Darrell Kronberg, Larry Kronberg, Sharon DeLeeuw, and Pam Kelley; grandchildren: Jeremy Kronberg, Christopher Kronberg, Katie Kronberg, Seth Roberts, Calynn Snider, Kaden Adams, Karissa Adams, and Samuel Allsup, who all lovingly knew him as Papa K; and great-grandchildren: Soren Roberts, Daxton Roberts, and Preston Roberts, who also cherished their Papa K. His legacy of love and devotion will live on through his family for generations to come.
Gordon worked diligently throughout his life at Neenah Foundry, Bergstrom Paper Mill in Neenah, WI, Montgomery Wards, Meadow Gold Dairy, and retired from REA Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne, IN. Beyond his career, Gordon was deeply committed to his faith and church family. He served as deacon, elder, song leader, church bus driver, and janitor at South Side Church of Christ, Fort Wayne, IN and East Allen Church of Christ, New Haven, IN. Together with his wife, he made it a mission to visit the elderly and shut-ins and welcomed countless guests into their home for meals. Gordon loved leading singing for worship services and enjoyed Gospel Quartet and Bluegrass music.
His hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors and craftsmanship: small game hunting, fishing, gardening, cutting wood, tending to his son-in-law's sheep, and most of all, woodworking. In retirement, Gordon and Patricia traveled the country in their fifth-wheel camper with their faithful dog, Jack, creating cherished memories along the way. Later, he settled in Jeffersonville, IN, where he continued his spirit of service by volunteering to mow the grass for Child Place Children's Home, a task he truly loved. He and Patricia were active members at North Side Church of Christ, in Jeffersonville, IN, where they participated in ministries to feed the hungry.
Gordon found joy in his faith, family, and the simple pleasures of life. His unwavering kindness and devotion will forever inspire those who knew him.
