I lived next to him with my mom for a few years. The reason I’m writing this is because I know he loved his white sox and they won their division today and made me think of him today. I would play a penny game with him all the time and continued to visit him when he moved to another apartment. Hope he is cheering for our Sox today! 

Belated sympathies from the nieces and nephews born in Pennsylvania. Uncle Gordon was a favorite of all.

My deepest sympathy to you. I met your father/grandfather when he lived at Coventry Meadows where my father lived as well. Gordon and my daughter, Marjory, were friends when they both worked at Lutheran Hospital. He was always so nice when talking about my daughter, also liking her name! He was such a kind man and I am so privileged to have known him! Thoughts and prayers for your family. God Bless!

Our thoughts and prayers for the repose of the soul of Gordon, to whom we had only lately become acquainted. A true gentleman whose legacy is a fine, loving family.

I did not know the man when yet a teen he went to war for his country. A time when in battle he was wounded, then recovered, was decorated, and later discharged.
I did not know the man as he went on to college and learned to be a coach and teacher.
I did not know the man when neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of the night stayed him from his task as a Postmaster.
I did not know the man when he was married, raising his children, or playing drums with a local jazz trio.
I have only known him these last two years but in that time I could see it in his eyes, his speech, and mannerisms that he was proud for having served his country, his satisfaction in helping young people with their education and sports activities at Ball State University, the success he felt from his vocation with the U.S. Postal Service, the enjoyment he got as an accomplished drummer, but most of all his love for his family.
It has been an honor and a pleasure to call him friend and to have been able to spend time with him
