Guillermo Calderon, 85, of New Jersey, and Clearwater, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Guillermo was born on May 6, 1939 in the country of Peru, a son of the late Guillermo and Elena Calderon. While in Peru, he played professional soccer for Atlético Chalaco and was a part of the U17 Peruvian National team. He very much still loved soccer, rooting for his favorite team, Sport Boys . He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Guillermo worked and retired from New Jersey Transit. Surviving family include his wife of 53 years, Victoria Calderon; daughter, Claudia (Richard) Castaneda; son, William (Keila) Calderon; grandchildren, Alessandra, Samantha, Justin, Brandon, and Christian; and five sisters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by two sisters and two brothers. Funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
