

Harold “Hal” H. Vizino, 82, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014. Hal was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and moved to Indiana to attend Earlham College, then completed graduate studies at St. Francis College. He served in the U.S. Army. Hal worked for the Fort Wayne Community Schools as a teacher and foreign language consultant and was an instructor at IPFW. Then worked later at Parkview Hospital as an educational coordinator. He was active in the church and had a passion for sharing the gospel with others and served in prison ministry at the Allen County Jail for many years. He was a reader for the blind on the radio (NEIRRS). Actively fluent in several foreign languages, Hal enjoyed talking with and getting to know others. He used his voice to sing in musicals and choirs. He served as a Three Rivers Festival day chairman for numerous years. Hal also enjoyed painting and sketching.
Survived by wife, Phyllis (married 52 years) and sons Chad (Maree), Curt and four granddaughters.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, at First Missionary Church, 701 W Rudisill Blvd. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at First Missionary Church.
Preferred memorials: Allen County Jail Ministry, Parkview Regional Medical Center, NEIRRS, A Hope Center.
