Nécrologie de Helen Litchin Mitson
Helen L. Mitson, 91, of Fort Wayne passed away January 31, 2023. A Fort Wayne native and first generation American, she was proud of her country and a loyal patriot. Throughout her life she closely followed politics and in later years swore her television received only one station, Fox News and her iPad having only one open window: Citizen Free Press. She was a homemaker who enjoyed every aspect of the word - cooking, decorating and most especially cleaning. After the passing of her beloved husband Oscar, her world became smaller but she took enjoyment in family and friends. She was a faithful Orthodox Christian being a founding family member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, then as a member of St. John Orthodox Church. Helen taught her children how to be grateful and gracious in the older years and the importance of encouraging others and seeing the bright side of any situation. She is survived by her son Chris (Sue) Mitson, daughter Marcia Crawford, grandsons Ozzie Mitson, Tony Mitson, Mickey (Kara) Mitson and Grant Crawford, great grandchildren Elena and Christopher Mitson, brother Chris V. Litchin, many godchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to Oscar, she was preceded in death by parents Ephrodita and Vasil Litchin, son-in-law John Crawford, brother Nick Litchin, sister-in-law Bessie Nicoloff. In accordance with Helen’s wishes, there will be a private service and no calling. Preferred memorials to Kate’s Kart, 10376 Leo Road, Suite A, Fort Wayne 46825 or Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Arrangements by D.O.
