Howard E. Harnish, 58, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born July 13, 1952 in Fort Wayne to the late Kenneth and Martha (Gerard) Harnish. Mr. Harnish worked as a machinist for numerous companies and then later took over the operations of K & M Upholstery in Roanoke. He was a member of Columbia City Church of Christ, the NRA and was a Hamm Radio Operator. Mr. Harnish enjoyed racing, tractor pulls and was a true outdoors man. Surviving are his wife, Treva (Mason) Harnish of South Whitley; step children, Tad (Janine) Brockus of WI, Trenton (Malissa) Brockus of WA, and Tobias (Ashley) Brockus of Marion; sisters, Elaine (Rodney) Johnson of Markle, Barbara (John) Mertz of Louisville, Ginger Harnish of Roanoke, and Donna Lilly of Florida; seven grandchildren, four nieces, and eight great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Harnish. Memorial service is Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Columbia City Church of Christ, 270 Frontage Road, Columbia City, IN 46725 with calling from 9:30 A.M. till service time. Burial will be in Leo Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to the church.
