

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Leroy “Rock” Culpepper. He departed this life peacefully in his home on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Born in Beloit, Alabama to Josh and Roberta Culpepper. Jack was the youngest son of nine children. From a young age Jack exhibited a deep interest in medicine, education, and music. Passions that guided him throughout his life. Jack was a standout student at Faucett Elementary School, Bibb County Junior and Senior High School.
After graduating he made his way to Fort Wayne, Indiana to join his family. He would later pursue a degree in Respiratory Therapy, graduating in May of 1981. He later dedicated his career to teaching at Ivy Tech College and providing compassionate care to private patients in his retirement.
Known affectionately by his close friends and family as “Rock” Jack was a beacon of kindness and humor. Always ready with a laugh, a quirky saying or helping hand. His faith was the cornerstone of his life and he actively participated in his church, Faith United Methodist Church, where he shared his beautiful voice through song and ensured the church was a welcoming place for all, making the grounds beautiful.
Jack was a published and gifted author, having published two books. He had a passion for cooking, gardening and yard work.
Jack had a penchant for laughter and kindness, always striving to make life easier for those around him. His kindness extended to all he encountered. He cherished his family deeply and had an appreciation for delicious food, fashionable attire, whimsical cartoons and the intricacies of the human body.
Jack will be deeply missed, but remembered by his family, friends and community. Jack never married or had children. He is survived by his brother, Charles (Gloria) Culpepper of Los Angeles, California; sister, Hattie Matthews of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jack is proceeded in death by his parents, Josh and Roberta Culpepper; brothers, Johnnie and Leon Culpepper ; sisters, Leola Culpepper, Maggie Hunt, Zetta Sander and Roberta Culpepper. He will be greeted with love.
Jack “ Rock” will forever live in our hearts and will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace.
