JACK C. NEWHOUSE, joined his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Born in Portland, Ind. on a dairy farm, Jack moved to Fort Wayne in 1956 after marrying his high-school sweetheart, Carol Smith. They had three children and celebrated over 52 years of marriage before Carol died from cancer in 2008. After Carol's death, he met, fell in love with, and married Beverly Winans. They spent their 12 wonderful years together dancing, visiting the sick and elderly, going to the lake, being with family and just generally enjoying life.
After working for Evans Motors from 1962-1978, he then started and operated Newbat Auto on Calhoun Street for over 30 years.
Jack was a lover of everything "engines" and was an avid long-time collector of antique tractors, minibikes, and motorcycles.
A passionate believer in Christ, he attended both The Chapel of Fort Wayne and Emanuel Lutheran of New Haven.
