Mike served his country as a US Marine until he was honorably discharged in 1971. During his time served he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Marksmanship Badge.
Mike worked for the City of Fort Wayne's Water Maintenance Department for 37 years before his retirement. While retired he worked for Palermo Construction for 12 years where he was known as "Iron Mike." In his spare time, he enjoyed blues music, attending racing events and spending his summers at the lake with his family. In his earlier years he also enjoyed golfing and trying his luck at the casino. He was a member of the St. Joe Club and recently, American Legion Post 47.
He is survived by the love of his life of 47 years, Patricia Esterline; children, Ben Esterline, Emily Esterline and Colleen Esterline; four grandchildren, Cameron, Mason, Caleb and Grace; and brother, David Esterline; and niece, Jewel; and great-niece, Paislee.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 with calling one hour prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
Visitation will be held from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm on Monday, May 17, 2021 also at the funeral home.
