James "Mike" Frane

James “Mike” Frane, 61, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 27, 1960 in Fort Wayne, the son of the late Michael and Sharon Frane of Fort Wayne, IN, who survives.

Mike graduated from Snider High School in 1979. He worked as a drywall installer and had worked for Midwest Drywall and BZW Painters for several years. Mike had a heart of gold and at the same time a real jokester. He had an infinite love for all things, Elvis. Mike was an avid Komet Hockey fan and loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for the guy that could rock the mullet, “even when it wasn’t cool, but more importantly, as “Papa Dusty”, by his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his children, Michael (Liz) Bowers; mother, Sharon Frane; siblings, Cindy (John) Eastman, Julie (Jeff) Harris, Michelle Frane, Joan (Tommy) Smith, all of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Ava and Gabriel Bowers. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Frane; sister, Kristi Frane, and Elvis.

A funeral service to honor Mike's life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Son Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also take place from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
